We can offer counselling over the telephone or over video calls (Zoom), and our counsellors have completed training to ensure that the service we provide remotely is as high quality as the in person-sessions.
Some clients find that remote sessions work well for their convenience. For example, if you are fitting in your session into your lunch hour, attending your session remotely can give you enough time to transition into and out of the session. It can also open up the possibility of working with a counsellor in any part of the country.
If you are unable to attend a session in person due to illness or any other reason, but don’t wish to miss your session (and are well enough), a remote session can be a good alternative, and our counsellors can be flexible with this.
It is important that you find a quiet and private space for remote sessions where you won’t be disturbed by anyone else for the duration of the session, in order to maintain the conditions and confidentiality of the therapy. We cannot hold sessions if there is anyone else in the room with you. (The exception to this would be a baby, as we would like to make therapy accessible to new parents).
Some people choose to sit in their safely parked cars for privacy during a remote session if there is no quiet space at home, and this can work well. However, please be aware that for the safety of you and other road users, we will not be able to hold a session remotely with you if you are driving at the time.
